The WYSC’s recreational (rec) program has provided the first soccer experience for thousands of Woodmore-area kids since we started in 1996.
Our rec program focuses on providing a fun environment that is open to any child who wants to play soccer.
The U6 (Bumblebee) program plays 4v4 games against other Woodmore teams at the Woodmore Elementary School in Woodville. The focus is on building confidence with the basics of the game and growing in both physical fitness and social skills.
We offer four additional rec age groups. Teams in these age groups play in the East Suburban Soccer League (ESSL) against teams from other rec programs in the area.
Both the U8 and U10 age groups play 7v7. There are typically enough registrations for multiple teams of each gender.
The U12 age group plays 9v9. Recent program growth has allowed us to offer one boys team and one girls team in each of the past three seasons.
The U14 age group plays 11v11 and is the final rec level before high school. This team is typically co-ed.
There are two soccer seasons per calendar year – the Spring Season runs from March through May, and the Fall season from August through October. Each season is comprised of 8-9 regular season games. After the fall season, U8-U14 teams are seeded into a weekend tournament with all other teams in their division.
Registration for the Spring Season typically begins in January, while Fall registration is in June. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook for update!
